Novi City Council Candidates

Five candidates participated in the interview process at the Novi City Council meeting on November 29 to fill a seat vacated by Kathy Crawford.
All the candidates came very prepared and seemed able to step in for Crawford.
Laura Casey addressed council first and said she prepared for this meeting by studying the master plan, reading old minutes, and becoming familiar with situations.
Casey said two factors play a role in how she would vote on issues brought to council.
"It's a blend," said Casey.  "I have to pay attention to everyone approaching the podium, but I also have to vote with what I feel is right."
Anamaria Kazanis has lived in Novi for 15 years and she said she has served on the beautification commission and economic development corporation.
"I decided to explore other avenues in my professional life," said Kazanis on why she is running.
Ed Kramer served previously on city council form 1997-2001 and said he calls Novi home.
"I am looking at a totally different group of people and I think that's positive," said Kramer.
Lou Martin worked for the public information director in Novi for over four years and said his experience as a staff member for the city would be beneficial to the council.
Wayne Wrobel said he was involved in city government for over 12 years, working on the master plan and zoning committee, the zoning board of appeals, and planning commission.
"Novi is my home and if you don't work to make it better, you are part of the problem."
